Preparation for Passover in the age of COVID-19
This year, the Passover rituals we have taken part in since we were children have been severely curtailed due to the threat of the deadly Corona Virus (COVID-19). Rabbis have declared that travel to, and participation in the Passover Seders must be eliminated in the name of survival.
Despite the mandated cancellation of Passover Seders, there is still an obligation to prepare your home for Passover by cleaning and eliminating your chametz.
Rabbi Galperin will be making arrangements for the sale of your chametz when you fill out your request on the Chabad Website. Please ensure you have completed this request prior to the beginning of Shabbos on Friday, April 3, 2020.
We hope you have a safe Passover.
Hurricane Dorian Relief Effort
I was surprised to learn that the Bahamas have a Chabad presence, and in the face of the devastating effects of Hurricane Dorian, there are relief efforts spearheaded by the Chabad rabbi in the community.
If you can donate anything to help with the aid and rebuilding effort, please visit the special donations page set up for this disaster.
Devonshire Mall Chanukah Menorah Lighting - 2018
For those who missed it, this year's Menorah lighting at Devonshire Mall was to benefit the Windsor Fire Department's Benefit Fund, which is used to enhance the lives of Windsor-area families who are in need of assistance. The menorah had a distinct "firehouse" theme, which I thought was really appropriate.
Here is the video of that event.
