Rosh Hashana and Yom Kipper are just around the corner. We must look back to what we have already done and look forward to what we can do in 5771. The economic times, the shrinking Jewish population and the loss of George Fenyvesi and Jack Shanfield have set the shul back. But on a more positive note, the birth of three babies ensures our future. Elul, the month before Rosh Hashana and Yom Kippur, is our time of introspection, reconciliation and repentance. We ask for forgiveness from those we have offended. And we look to ourselves to identify ways to improve the way we live our lives and to improve our feelings towards our shul and Hashem and to give generously to our shul. This is the time to honour the memories of our loved ones in our Yom Kippur Yiskor Appeal. Shalom Milt Dzodin, President |
